| Bio: | Name: Beth Graves Date of Birth: December 15th, 1991 Age: 18 Race/Species: Banshee Hometown: Harmony, ME Physical description: Beth is a lanky looking kind of girl, with long limbs and limp red hair. She's tall for a girl, 5'10", and she has a boyish kind of figure. Because of the hormone injections, her waistline and shaped itself a bit to appear more feminine, and her hips have rounded softly. Her breasts are small and modest, and are mostly water bra but there is definite (if minimal) clevage. Her eyes are very bright and there is a splash of freckles across her nose, which becomes more prominent when/if she goes outside. Personality: Beth is a bit of a cave dweller. She's also a total geek and sometimes a spaz. She likes being inside more than out, and her bedroom at home has dark drapes over the windows and dark posters on the wall. Often, the only light she sees is her computer screen. She tends to cling to internet reality instead of actual reality, because the internet is safer and less judgemental (most ironically). She can be who she wants to be online and no one will be the wiser. Beth tends to be a bit mousy and meek, and would rather avoid an altercation if at all possible. She's definitely a night person, and some of the people from her school used to call her a vampire because she's so pale and seems to hate daylight. PB: Felicia Day Background: When Beth was born her parents named her after their best friend- Nathan. This is because when Beth was born, she was a boy. The name on her birth certificate is Nathan Anthony Graves, and she accepted Nathan until her freshman year of high school. When puberty hit, Nathan knew that he wasn't like most other boys. He had always known, but sexual maturation brought about the courage in him to actually question why it was that he liked his nails longer, his hair longer, why he never felt right in his own skin. He knew that he looked like, and for all intents and purposes was, a male. But he felt like a girl. So one day, at the beginning of sophmore year, Nathan took the plunge. He came to school in a skirt and a cute fitted sweater, his already long hair braided and shiny and beautiful. Of course, when the students figured out who the "new girl" was, they kicked the crap out of her. And as they did she screamed, a piercing scream that broke a few of their eardrums and made the rest of the mob ill. (The screaming only solidified that Nathan was a "fruit and a fag".) But that day changed everything, and no matter the torment, Beth was never going away. Which drove her to spend most of her life online. Her parents didn't understand this "sudden change" in their son, and while they were vaguely supportive, it was obvious they wished for this to just be a phase. Nobody at school ever spoke to her, and people in their small mountain town gave her odd looks when she went out. So, she didn't. She stayed inside and made internet friends and got to be whoever she wanted to be. But because Beth spent so much time isolated, her empathic abilities had nothing to adapt to. Her emotions flowed freely because she was only around machines and walls, with nothing to reflect them back. Even in school she stayed away from people and kept to herself so exposure to other people was minimal. So, when she did find herself in a close encounter situation, the emotions surrounding her became overwhelming and she couldn't control them. Of course Beth insisted she'd be fine, that she would figure out how to handle them herself, but the internet proved to be little help in that regard. So her parents told her that they wouldn't help pay for college (and thus get her out of that horrible little town) unless she agreed to get her abilities under control. It still got her out of Harmony and away from the bullies and the rocks chucked at her head, and in this new place she could just be Beth without any history of Nathan attached. Abilities: As a banshee (dad's side), Beth can scream loudly and cause damage and sickness to those around her. She also has empathic abilities, which are amplified by mom's dna (gifted human empath). Weaknesses: Her hearing is very sensitive, so loud noises give her headaches and make her sick. Because she doesn't have much control over her empathy yet, strong emotions will overwhelm her. | ||||||||||
